The OnSide Blind Spot Detection System is designed as a warning system and thus, will not actively intervene to prevent contact with other vehicles, persons or objects. The system is not intended as a substitute for proper lane change procedures. Alerted by an OnSide warning, the driver must take

The role of microwave radar motion sensors in driving is changing how we use our vehicles. Vehicle manufacturers are using radar sensors and component suppliers to picture the surrounding environment accurately. As a result, it helps drivers stay safe on any road all the time. They are an important part of collision avoidance systemsand adaptive cr...
In our daily life, we come across various machinery that uses microwaves for functioning. Some receive these waves using a receiver while other products emit these by special equipment called microwave radar transmitters. Microwave radars are electrical instruments that emit microwaves for several purposes. If we talk about microwave radar sensors,...
The microwave radar sensor module is a device that can measure the reflected signal strength of a microwave. It is used to detect the target object’s presence in the vicinity. The main components involved in this process are a transmitter, antenna, receiver, and digital computer circuit. The transmitter sends out microwave signals which travel thro...
In the past, radar microwave technology came only in large vehicles like aircraft and boats. Miniaturization of the technology has led to its use in radar-based driver assistance systems. At the start, the critical challenge for radar technology was to incorporate it into a car’s dashboard without compromising driver comfort or safety. However, ove...
There are plenty of reasons why microwave sensors are best for blind spot systems. All in all, these sensors enhance the vehicle’s safety on the road. As a result, it aids in saving owners and road individuals from permanent damage. Some of the primary reasons why microwave sensors prove to be ideal are as follows:
Blind spot monitors are a great way to help drivers avoid collisions. However, not every microwave radar sensor will work as intended. Several factors can affect the functionality of your microwave radar detector. As a result, it can cause problems with your vehicle’s blind spot monitor: The practical reasons causing blind spot monitor sensor probl...
Future cars can go beyond just sensing the vehicles on their flanks. They can also identify lane markings, road signs, and traffic lights. It is all possible through a system called microwave radar sensors. Radar is an important empowering technology enabling safe driving in automated, autonomous, and assisted vehicles. In this article, we have dis...
surface of the sensors (black side) and the desired location on the bumper (See image below).
When the system is on and functioning, the system is designed to detect the following events: Blind spots while driving: Objects in the blind spot areas around your vehicle - in the lanes on the left / right and directly behind the vehicle at a distance of up to 50 ft (approximately 15.2 m).
Blind detection on right side: Right LED indicator will turn on and stay lit when there is object approaching on the right blind area (3m X 15m). If the right signal light is turned on at this time, the right LED indicator will keep blinking and the buzzer will be on with sound beeping.
This reference design provides a foundation for corner radar applications to meet entry-level blind spot detection (BSD) requirements using the AWRL1432BOOST-BSD evaluation module. The design allows users to estimate and track the position (in the azimuthal plane) and velocity of objects up to 120m.

The locations should be close to the corners on the inner rear side and at least 18 in (45 cm) from the ground. Clean the surface prior to mounting the sensors. Test the sensors before installing them onto the bumper. Check the labels on top of the sensors and the 3M sticker base to distinguish left and right sensors.
