- Half-Scales ('Na') ~5 Minutes. To start your daily exercises, sing half-scales to warm up your voice gently. Your starting note should be comfortable for you to sing, sitting roughly in the middle of your range.
- Arpeggios ('Ya') ~5 Minutes. Arpeggios are similar to scales, but use broken chords. Instead of singing each note in the major scale (whether half the scale or the whole scale), you will sing the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 8th note of the scale.
- Chromatic Vowels. ~3 Minutes. Practicing your vowels will train your mouth to use the correct shapes when singing. For more information on the correct mouth shapes when singing (embouchure), click here.
- Sirens ('Oo') ~3 Minutes. Sirens are an incredibly popular and effective vocal exercise. These are a form of vocal slide that imitate the sound of a siren (hence the name).

- Warming Up Your Muscles. Download Article 1 Breathe deeply. Stand up with your back straight, and your shoulders back and relaxed. Place both of your hands on your stomach.
- Strengthening Your Speaking Voice. Download Article 1 Say “Mm-mmm.” Do this until you feel the front of your face buzz or vibrate. The vibration may cause the front of your face to tickle a bit, but this means you are doing the exercise correctly.
- Strengthening Your Singing Voice. Download Article 1 Trill your lips. With your lips closed and relaxed, blow air through them gently. Do this until your lips begin to trill.

The exercises work each aspect of the voice and technique in an even fashion. Exercise #1 is a Messa di voce, which means crescendo-decrescendo on one breath, on one note singing through all of the vowels. The vowels are written in the symbols used in the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA).
