- Over the electric fence. This one is a well-known team building game. Imagine two chairs connected with a wire at about 1m high. Imagine this is an electric fence.
- The human knot. Another classic team building game. Let your students stand in a circle, giving hands. Now, students have to tangle themselves by walking in between students in front of them, going over or under locked hands.
- Escape the classroom. Create an “escape the classroom” game. Students will have to work together in groups to escape the classroom. They have to look for clues and codes on their computer and in the classroom.
- Bob the Builder. This game is all about working together to build something great. It lets students work together, develop great things, and makes them think critically and learn from their mistakes and successes.

Classroom team-building games are a must at the start of a new school year! They allow students to build new relationships, develop trust in one another, and start to feel comfortable in a new classroom group. Here are some of my favorites!
- Student Jobs. Assigning classroom roles to students in the classroom fosters a shared responsibility and a sense of ownership within the classroom community.
- Team Building. Engage students in team-building activities that help promote teamwork and collaboration. From group projects to problem-solving challenges, these experiences allow students to work together, learn from one another, and develop a shared sense of achievement.
- Morning Meetings. Kick-start each day with a morning meeting to foster a positive and connected classroom community. These gatherings allow students to greet one another, share news, engage in icebreaker activities, and get to know you games.
- Classroom Contracts. Create a sense of responsibility and accountability within the classroom community by coming up with classroom expectations and norms through a classroom contract.
