Details. Summary. A picture is worth 1,000 words — what about a song? Can a picture inspire a song or fifteen? In 35mm, each photo creates an unique song, moments frozen in time; a glimmer of a life unfolding, a glimpse of something happening. A stunning new multimedia musical which explores a groundbreaking new concept in musical theatre...
35MM: A Musical Exhibition (often shortened as both 35mm and 35MM) is a 2012 note multimedia anthology "musical exhibition" created by American musical theatre composer and lyricist Ryan Scott Oliver, and produced by Tony-winning producer John Johnson in association with Very Intense Productions.
35mm: A Musical Exhibition transforms photographs into narratives through a collection of songs. Inspired by photographs by Matthew Murphy, each song is based on a different photo, exploring a range of emotions, stories, and characters.
35MM: A Musical Exhibition takes that concept and throws it headlong into the world of the stage musical. Instead of telling a conventional narrative, the company, Musicality, instead takes a scattershot of styles, ranging from ballads to punk cabaret and even four-part gothic harmony to weave stories of connection.
