If you get an alert that says Invalid SIM or No SIM Card installed, follow these steps.

1.Make sure that you have an active plan with your wireless carrier.

    2.Restart your iPhone or iPad.

3.Check for a carrier settings update. Go to Settings > General > About. If an update is available, you'll see a prompt to select OK or Update.

4.If your device has an eSIM, contact your carrier.

5.If your device has a physical SIM card, remove your iPhone SIM card or iPad SIM card from the SIM card tray and then put the SIM card back. Make sure that the SIM tray closes completely and isn’t loose. If you use a SIM tray from a different model iPhone, iPad, or from another phone manufacturer, it might not fit properly.

    • Remove Your SIM Tray. If your SIM tray is full of dust, your iPhone wouldn't be able to read your SIM card. Here's how to fix this: Switch your iPhone off.
    • Toggle Airplane Mode. Several users, including myself, have been able to fix the SIM card error by switching Airplane Mode on and off. You would stop connecting to cellular networks, so any network error would be cleared.
    • Force Restart Your iPhone. There are various problems that could arise because of isolated glitches. However, a force restart should help. All the apps and processes would be closed to erase the glitch.
    • Update iOS. When was the last time you updated iOS? If it's been a while, you could be facing a bug. You probably already know if you're using an older iOS version.

    • Enable and disable Airplane mode. First, go to iPhone Settings or the Control Center and turn on Airplane mode. After waiting for about 15 seconds, please turn it off.
    • Turn on the SIM line. If you use two SIM cards and it shows No SIM, go to iPhone Settings > Cellular > tap a SIM and enable the switch for Turn On This Line.
    • Restart your iPhone. Often, the most frustrating problems are fixed by a simple restart. If you’re getting SIM card errors on your iPhone, turn it off and after waiting for a minute, turn it back on.
    • Gently wipe and reinsert the SIM card. Sometimes after restarting my four-year-old iPhone, I would get the SIM Not Valid or No SIM Card message even though a functioning card is inserted.
