The animation is the best it’s ever looked, Clay’s study in Beforel is a beautiful set. I absolutely adore the two songs that play in the episode, Suspicious and Cool and ,even better, Patera . The motif of the Blue Crane from the Nature two-parter returns and feels really fitting as we experience another, earlier life-changing time in Orel’s life.

In season 2 we see that Clay will hit Orel for even questioning what he is told or for not immediatley going along with Clay's crap. So If Clay was like that before the events of the show as well, I feel like that helps explain why Orel takes everyones advice so literally.
It's the little things that made this episode great: ~Orel's gulp at the end. ~Right as Shapey was conceived, the sperm said "Mine!" ~Right after Shapey was born, he started nursing. ~Orel's consistently unnamed friend. ~When Clay picked up Orel from the park, 2 empty beer bottles rolled out when the door was opened.
