Welcome to IGN's Walkthrough of Chapter 2 of Therion's Story. Below you will find information on how his story progresses, maps of areas and items you'll find along the way, and enemies and bosses you can expect to encounter.
Therion arrives in Noblecourt, the rumored location of the ruby dragonstone. Looking for more information, he overhears a conversation between two townspeople on a mysterious mansion in the northwest part of town, home of the scholar Orlick, where he spends his time studying a mysterious red stone. Therion decides to investigate this lead.
Therion comes upon the place. He hides and watches a guard make his rounds, cursing the bad luck and the strangeness of a scholar with his own armed guard. After noticing no back entrance either, he decides to make his way to the tavern to see if he can find out anything else.
Therion knocks at the door, and Barham exits the building to inquire into his presence. He asks what business Therion has with him. He confirms that he used to be Orlick’s research partner long ago, but is better off without him. To keep Barham’s attention, Therion let’s him in on his mission to acquire the dragonstone. Barham surmises the rest, that Therion needs help entering into Orlick’s residence. He says Therion will need a password to enter, and agrees to give it to him if Therion gathers what he needs for an experiment: pure water filtered through desert sands. The item is carried by a trader that often comes through town. Therion sees an opportunity to put his thieving skills to work.
He easily finds the merchant in the town square, and pilfers the Oasis Water off of him. Bringing it back to Barham, he says that Therion needs to grab more items for him before he considers his half of the deal done, including a wyvern scale. A merchant in East Noblecourt carries this. Once again stealing the item and bringing it to Barham, he asks for one final item: crystal ore. Pilfer it off the merchant next to the save point and once again head back to Barham’s residence one final time. With this final piece, Barham can begin his experiment.
As he does so, he explains how he and Orlick acquired the manor to continue their research, and how he changed after coming across the stone, which is why he’s helping Therion. He finally tells him the password to be “the truth of all things,” and hands him the results of his experiment: a key, stating that while the password will get him in the door, the key will get him into the lab. Learning that Barham sees Orlick as a sibling, he can’t help but think of Darius.
A flashback shows the two as adults, getting a large haul from a family called the Cianos, but says they’ll resort to violence when they come after them.

Therion comes upon the large door that Barham spoke of. He uses the key on the door to open it and enter. There he sees the ruby dragonstone lying on a table. Just before he’s about to take it. Orlick stops him.
Orlick deduces that Barham had a hand in helping Therion. Orlick believes the stone should be in the hands of a scholar, namely himself. When Therion questions his need to do things himself, he becomes angry and attacks.
After defeating Orlick and knocking him out, Therion is free to take the ruby dragonstone. And with that Therion returns to Bolderfall.
He gives Heathcote the ruby dragonstone. While the lady of the house wishes to remove the band for his work, Therion looks after her best interests in telling her that she can’t guarantee his honesty if she removes the band, and Heathcote agrees.
