Summary. Season Premiere: Carter returns from Africa, going straight to Abby's bedside. Her response to seeing him is to ask for her key back. She is very chilly towards him all day until new med student Neela Rasgotra answers a phone call for Carter. The message: Luka is dead.
The ER deals with victims of a multi-vehicle accident caused when a man with heart troubles passes out and hits two other cars. Abby and Pratt disagree about a patient with a badly swollen knee; Pratt wants to just treat and release him while Abby wants to run tests.
