Dec 18, 2023 · After 10 years, Northgate Mall is now without a movie theater. The Xscape theater at the Colerain Township mall permanently closed Sunday, according to a Monday post on its Facebook page.

The Times Towne Theatre was just about THE house downtown during the 1960’s and 1970’s. Owned by Mid States Theatres, it ran first run must see films. This was back when films ran in one theatre exclusively and the exterior was always redone for whatever film was showing.
The Royal Theatre opened on June 9, 1910 and closed on 31st July 1979 making it the longest continuously operating movie theatre in downtown Cincinnati. It was operated throughout its life by Associated Theatres Inc. who over the years owned and operated 15 theatres, the Royal Theatre was the last one to go.
