   • No, the servers are still up as of right now. After January, yes. After then you will only be able to use them offline - it contacts the server to confirm your BlackBerry ID every time you go online not just for initialization. Luckily the Tablet OS will probably never need reinstalling anyway and you can sideload any apps you need.

   Sorry to revive a dead thread - is there any way to make use of a bricked Playbook now that the servers are dead? Really upset that one of my perfectly-functional playbooks erased itself and just booted to the setup screen. I'm guessing it's kicked the bucket in that case.
