It used to work OK, even without use of Blackberry's Desktop Manager, but Fall update seems to have bricked.

Delete any BlackBerry software on your computer and re-install it. For the PlayBook you can use either the old desktop software or Link. I had an issue where my playbook would constantly connect and disconnect, very strange bug. I wiped the playbook and everything worked ok.
Apr 8, 2017 · Oh, boy this is reaching back into history. I believe that I used a Win Explorer shortcut to gain access to my Playbook. You need your PB's ip address. Then you can enter it something like: \\192.168.0.164\media. into the top line of Window Explorer or create a shortcut and enter that as the address.
