- More punch comes to the 888cc T-plane triple. This year, Triumph looked at its soulful inline-3, taking a good step up in performance with a claimed 106.5 horsepower (+13) and 66 ft-lbs of torque (+2.2) through a few clever tricks of the engineering trade.
- Twin meet triple—the T-Plane hints at a best-of-both-worlds solution. That’s a lofty observation, yet the uneven T-Plane firing order is responsible for more than a baritone exhaust bark—it also helps achieve the low-end and midrange grunt of a twin while retaining the zesty high-revving character of Triumph’s three-pot mills.
- Efficiency improvements come into the fold. The updated mill is said to benefit from a nine percent fuel economy improvement, which leaves us with a theoretical 264-mile range out of the 5.3-gallon fuel tank—as always, YMMV.
- Five ride modes are standard on the 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro. Rain, Road, Sport, Off-Road, and a customizable Rider mode reprise their roles on the street-focused ADV machine.

- The new 888cc triple is a fantastic touring powerplant. With the right balance of smoothness and character, the inline-3 rewards a twist of the throttle without demanding it.
- Moving up from the 900 GT to membership in the GT Pro club has its benefits. The GT Pro gets five riding modes (four on the GT), electronically adjustable shock damping, an up/down quickshifter, smartphone/TFT-display connectivity via the My Triumph app, LED fog lights, heated seats, illuminated switches, tire pressure monitoring, and a centerstand.
- Triumph made the Tiger 900 lighter and narrower than the 800, along with having a lower center of gravity. With a 30.5-inch inseam and weighing 115 pounds, I appreciate an easier-to-handle chassis.
- There are two seat heights—both of them work. The seat is quickly adjustable between two heights—31.9 and 32.7 inches. I liked the flat-footed access the lower setting gave me—but on longer rides, the taller position affords a bit more legroom.

A host of interrelated design features including dedicated forks and RSU and a uniquely tuned suspension set-up have enabled a seat height that is 50mm lower than the Tiger 900 standard. As with all Tiger 900 bikes, this model has a built-in 20mm seat height adjustment which means the Tiger 900 GT LRH seat height range is 760 – 780mm instead of the standard 810 – 830mm.
