Feb 2, 2018 · But what does it mean? I thought I’d use this blog to give you some examples of how we put Safe Personal and Effective into everyday practice at ELHT. Being Safe in theatres is absolu tely necessary and one of the reasons why we have launched a new, unique patient safety initiative called 10,000 feet.
For safe, kind, effective care to be delivered, good leaders are crucial. Leadership covers a wide range of behaviours and ways of working such as speaking up to advocate for patients or to raise concerns, supporting teams working in pressured environments and creating inclusive working environments for people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
Effective – providing evidence-based healthcare services to those who need them; Safe – avoiding harm to people for whom the care is intended; and People-centred – providing care that responds to individual preferences, needs and values.
This practical guide shows how YOU can use evidence to improve care and services. It is for anyone with an interest in improving practice. You might work in social care, public health or healthcare. You might work in a charity or voluntary organisation. You might be a person using services, a patient, relative or advocate.
