Jan 3, 2022 · But if we love something or someone more than God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), it is idolatry. The Bible says that the Lord is a jealous God (Exodus 20:4-5; Deuteronomy 4:24), which means that He requires that our affections be placed correctly, that is, on Him.
Jesus demands that we love Him more than anyone else. This does not necessarily mean emotional love. But it does mean obedience. It means being faithful to Him. We show God that we love Him more by being willing to sacrifice our desires, accept insults and abuse from others, and give up our lives for Him.
