In select locations, videos on the YouTube Kids app are available to download so you can watch them during periods of low or no connectivity.
The features described in this article are available in the locations listed below. If YouTube Premium and YouTube Kids are available in your location, you can download videos to watch offline on your mobile device by becoming a YouTube Premium member. If you are a YouTube Premium member, learn how to manage your download settings.
You must be signed in to YouTube Kids to save videos offline.
1. Go to the YouTube Kids app and find a video you’d like to download.
2. Tap More .
3. Select Download Video.
View videos
To view the videos you’ve downloaded, visit the Downloads category on the YouTube Kids homescreen.
Remove videos
1. Go to the YouTube Kids app and find a video you’d like to download.
2. Tap More .
3. Select Delete from downloads.
You can update the settings for your downloaded videos by adjusting the video quality or having videos only download over Wi-Fi. To get started:
1. Select the Lock in the corner of your screen in the YouTube Kids app.
2. Complete the math problem or enter your custom passcode.
3. Tap Settings .
4. Select Background & Downloads.
5. Turn on or off Download over Wi-Fi only, or tap Download quality to adjust as needed.
YouTube Kids is available for free starting today in the U.S. on Google Play and the App Store, and will soon be available on Kurio and nabi kids’ tablets. This is the first step toward reimagining YouTube for families, but with your help, the app will continue to get better over time.
