What does Philippians 2:7 mean? Rather than coming to earth to demand others serve Him, Jesus "emptied himself." This does not mean Jesus stopped being God. Here are a few that I think help provide a “general” understanding of what “emptied himself” might mean. First, John, in prison, asked his disciples to inquire if Jesus was the “one-to-come”.
