Anxiety is a word we use to describe feelings of unease, worry and fear. It incorporates both the emotions and the physical sensations we might experience when we are worried or nervous about something.
Anxiety is a natural reaction to something seen as a perceived threat (but remember it is your own perception, not necessarily a fact). Some anxiety can be helpful, for it sharpens the senses and alerts us to danger. For example: “This road is very busy and it could be quite dangerous when crossing, therefore I must be careful.”
Anxiety is what we feel when we are worried, tense or afraid – particularly about things that are about to happen, or which we think could happen in the future. Anxiety is a natural human response when we feel that we are under threat.
