Ignore scammers that send fake Paypal emails telling you that you need to pay an upfront fee to verify/upgrade to a business account/or any other reason to accept a payment. They then send fake paypal emails telling you to pay the funds using another payment processor ie bitcoins/ or tokens/vouchers etc.
Feb 23, 2023 · I then received what looked like legitimate email from "PayPal" saying I had been upgraded to business account and I needed to refund buyer money before I could be credited. I quickly realised I was potentially being scammed when buyer became defensive when I questioned this, and refused to pay.

Scams are when you authorise a payment but don't receive what you expect or don't receive anything at all. For example, you send money to a seller to pay for a laptop using the Friends and Family payment type, but you never receive the laptop. If you get a request that asks you to act fast, it could be a scam.
