You can'tupgrade your VM if the VM uses local SSD or is a member of a managed instancegroup (MIG).     Can I resize my VM's bootdisk?

    You can increase the size of your VM's default boot Persistent Disk. For moreinformation, see Increase the size of a persistentdisk. To decrease the disk size, you must create a new disk with a smaller size. Untilyou delete the original, larger disk, you are charged for both disks.
