During the first four days of the game, the Mines are closed due to a landslide caused by the Joja Corporation. On Spring5 in the first year, a letter will be received in the mail saying that Joja Corp. has cleared the landslide, and then the Mines are unlocked.

Add another 40% if you take the artisan profession. Aging it to iridium star quality does add another 2x multiplier (231.4 = 8.4x total), but takes an additional two whole seasons. Technically worthwhile, but does delay your payday for quite a while, and there's not enough room in the cellar to keep up with a productive greenhouse.
