Getting to Costa Rica is a fairly straightforward endeavor from much of the U.S. Here’s what to consider as you start to plan your trip.
- MOJACAR. Mojacar Playa – Costa de Almeria. Mojacar is a town divided in two. One one side, you have old Mojacar, known as Mojacar Pueblo, which sits on a hilltop overlooking the coast of Almeria.
- SAN JOSE. Village of San Jose at sunset. The town of San Jose is located at the heart of Cabo de Gata. Although it only accounts for 850 inhabitants, it is one of the most important tourist centers in the whole Costa de Almeria.
- SAN JUAN DE LOS TERREROS. San Juan de los Terreros. Dreamstime. San Juan de los Terreros is a small village located in the northern end of the Costa de Almeria.
- CARBONERAS. Seaside promenade in Carboneras. The town of Carboneras is located in the northern edge of the famous Cabo de Gata Nature Park. The low-rise houses that make up Carboneras stretch across more than 2 km of sandy beach which is bordered by a nice promenade with bars & restaurants.
- JBIRD. Melbourne, Australia 26 contributions. Fabulous. Just fantastic, wow, worth the visit to Almeria. The city has done a wonderful restoration, the Islamic heritage is amazing.
- Side T. Almeria, Spain 48 contributions. Spaghetti Westerns a body? Extraordinary scenery, which varies as much as the conservation does ,as parts seem to be strictly preserved and others nor at all.
- Starviagera. Florida 2,126 contributions. Pick after you dog, pigs! The information office at the entrance to the park was closed on a Monday. We found an information booth here that was helpful.
- JOANA H. San Vicente de la Barquera, Spain 39 contributions. Special place. This place is wonderful, not only as landscape view, also as a snorkeling place.
Urban kid-friendly beaches. The coastal town of San José has an excellent beach the entire family can enjoy with the comforts of urban life just around the corner. Playa de Aguadulce and Playa de las Marinas Bolaga in Vera are two excellent options for families looking for longer stretches of golden sand.
