You need Gendustry if you want to work with bees, also add the various bee addons that you can find, some are pretty fun, BoP and Forestry tree's are two totally separated things, they work fine together, BoP tree's can't be used to breed Forestry tree's.
MeeCreeps is a fun alternative that does tree gathering really well. They do lots of other things too but clearing trees was my primary use for them.
