    • Café Strange Brew. We just had to include this absolute gem of a spot, Cafe Strange Brew. The café is located in Glasgow’s Southside, and they serve some of the best pancakes in town, as reported by many happy customers.
    • Kember & Jones. Kember & Jones is a café, bakery and a coffee roasters, offering that perfect mix of a sweet kick with a boost of energy from the coffee in the mornings.
    • Down To Earth Glasgow. Down To Earth is a ‘flexitarian dining‘ spot, with a mainly meat-free menu offering plenty of veggie and vegan options. Surely, the restaurant’s Instagram is one of the most colourful ones on this list – as their menu is abundant with vibrant foods like with buddha bowls, açaí bowls, plenty of toast options and breakfast brioche buns.
    • Scran. The name Scran tells us all we need to know: this Dennistoun coffee shop serves up some delicious scran, as well as decent coffee. With all kinds of eggs, such as Eggs Benedict, or breakfast rolls like the signature Scran Roll available, treat yourself whilst en route on your morning walk to either the beautiful green space of Glasgow Necropolis or Alexandra Park.
    • Tabac. 2 reviews. A sultry hideaway that's pinned itself as a den for illicit drinking, draft beer and vintage trinkets, Tabac is easily one of Glasgow's best secret bars.
    • The Flying Duck. 2 reviews. Tucked away in a basement on Renfield Street, the front door of The Flying Duck is often locked and requires its cool kid patrons to use an unmarked entrance around the back.
    • The Berkeley Suite. 5 reviews. A secret Glasgow bar in every meaning of the word, The Berkeley Suite is a decadent, vintage-style ballroom and late-night hangout, hidden behind a pawn shop on the side of the motorway.
    • The Butterfly and The Pig. 5 reviews. Nested away on Bath Street, The Butterfly and The Pig disguises itself as a kitsch, antique tearoom – when in fact it's a late-night bar with DJs, open mic events and live bands.
    • El Santito. Located at the back of the Mexican spot El Santo, El Santito boasts a clandestine atmosphere, flashy decor, DJs and plenty of cocktails to go around.
    • Hide & Seek. Did someone say heated Treehouse? While located directly off Buchanan Street, Hide & Seek is not the most obvious find for many nestled in one of Merchant City’s alleyways.
    • Absent Ear. It honestly just wouldn’t be a speakeasy bars in Glasgow list without Absent Ear located within The Amsterdam. With its intriguing name, Vincent Van Gogh-inspired theme and creative cocktails, the bar has won multiple awards since opening, and is continuing to slay the Glasgow bar scene.
    • The Flying Duck. This is a true speakeasy, with the front door of The Flying Duck often locked, and the cool kids having to use the (unmarked) back door to get in.
    • Zique's. Restaurants. Found two doors up Hyndland Street, Zique's is one of the few eateries in Glasgow that does breakfast, lunch, dinner, casual drinks and cake to a consistently high standard.
    • Stravaigin. Restaurants. Burgers. Opened in 1995, and taking its title from an old Scottish word meaning “to wander aimlessly with intent,” the ambience here at Stravaigin is artfully bucolic – think exposed stone walls, open fire, chunky wooden roof beams, an iron staircase tangled with twinkling fairy lights and huge floor-to-ceiling windows that swing fully open in summertime (when there are also tables outside on Gibson Street).
    • Kember and Jones. Restaurants. Coffeeshops. This popular West End café and fine food emporium has a short but rather splendid breakfast menu, available daily until noon.
    • Cafe Strange Brew. This dog-friendly cafe claims to serve up 'the best brunch in the south and a damn fine cup of coffee' and you'd struggle to find someone who would disagree.
