A usually-single player mode in a game that has the player traverse through a series of levels, and which usually tells a story.

MW2 - Modern Warfare 2, technically "II" released in 2022, could also abbreviate: "Modern Warfare 2" from 2009. Mechwarrior 2 (I loved this and MW2 Mercs back in the day) Other examples I thought of: CS - Counter Strike (aka CS:GO), but could be Cities Skylines.
