    • Asian Black Bear. Also known as the Moon bear and the white-chested bear, the Asian black bear has the scientific name Ursus thibetanus. And as its scientific name indicates, the Asian black bear originally came from the Himalayas and remains its primary habitat today.
    • Asian Giant Hornet. The scientific name of the Asian giant hornet is Vespa mandarinia, and its name reflects its status as the world’s largest hornet, with most specimens averaging between 35 and 40 mm in length.
    • Asian Pipe Snake. These animals actually make up a genus of 13 different species of non-venomous snake, the Cylindrophis. They take their name from their tendency to burrow into the ground, as well as banded patterns over their bodies, which gives them the appearance of a pipe.
    • Asiatic Lion. The Asiatic lion, with the scientific name Panthera leo leo, once lived across India and the Middle East. Today, however, the Asiatic lion lives only in India.

    • King cobra. The king cobra (Ophiophagus hannah) is a venomous snake native to parts of China, India, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia. It can grow up to 4 meters (13 feet) long and is known to ‘stand up’ by lifting a third of its body off the ground.
    • Flying lizard. Draco is a genus of lizard consisting of 41 different species known as flying lizards, gliding lizards, or flying dragons. They are so named because they have membranes connected to very long ribs that can be extended to function as wings.
