Aug 14, 2020 · Class of 2020 Wellesley High School graduate Michael Thorbjorsen, who won the U.S. Junior Amateur title in 2018 and starred for the Raiders golf team this past year, now has a shot at winning the U.S. Amateur tournament being played this week at Bandon Dunes in Oregon.

Wellesley Inter-Club Scratch Knockout. An inter-club team knockout with matches played over 36 holes. Each team will field 8 players, with 4 scratch foursomes matches in the morning and 8 scratch singles matches in the afternoon.
The 22-year-old, who graduated from Wellesley High in 2020 and played four years at Stanford, tied for fourth as an amateur at the 2022 Travelers, then returned and made the cut last year.
The Tournament is a 36 Hole Individual Stroke Play event and is part of the PGA South Order of Merit serie 2023. The Tournament is open to PGA Professionals and Trainees from the South Region Only.
