Wayne's World is a 1992 American comedy film directed by Penelope Spheeris. It was produced by Lorne Michaels and written by Mike Myers and Bonnie & Terry Turner.

- Wayne used to fly solo. Myers first began playing Wayne during solo performances with improv troupe Second City Toronto. Dana Carvey’s Garth only became his sidekick when the pair started to perform together on Saturday Night Live.
- It’s the highest-grossing SNL spin-off. Saturday Night Live has spawned eleven full-length movies over the years, including the good (The Blues Brothers), the bad (A Night at the Roxbury) and the ugly (Blues Brothers 2000).
- It cost just $20m to make. Wayne’s World also ended up recouping its budget nine times over. At just $20m, the film was far cheaper to make than SNL flops Blues Brothers 2000 ($28m), The Ladies Man ($24m) and commercially disappointing sequel Wayne’s World 2 ($40m).
- Paramount had doubts about the film. Paramount Studios may have been rubbing their hands at the box-office receipts but executives were initially unsure whether to bankroll Wayne’s World at all.
