Nov 5, 2013 · PARAMUS, N.J. — A 20-year-old man intent on dying fired multiple shots inside New Jersey’s largest shopping mall, trapping customers and employees for hours as police scoured stores for the gunman, who was found dead early Tuesday of a self-inflicted wound, authorities said. There were no other injuries.
The suspected gunman involved in the shooting at Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus, N.J., has been found dead, according to reports. Law enforcement sources said the suspect — 20-year-old Richard Shoop of Teaneck, N.J. — was found dead in the mall basement early Tuesday morning, apparently killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
