Robocop 2 is a good sequel for the series. In fact it’s about the only other thing worth watching really. It's campier than the first, and not as good, but still hits on a lot of the same things the first did in a cheesier fashion. I love how the city of Detroit is trying to do a telethon fundraiser to save the city.

It goes without saying that the 1990 sequel isn't as good as the original, but the second installment did an honorable job of keeping with the feel of Verhoeven's work - the ultraviolence, the social critiquing. It's a worthy follow-up. I had all the robocop toys when that came out.

RoboCop 2 is worth a watch as long as you can get past how it makes Murphy step back in characterisation, there's good action scenes, some funny bits, but it's a lot sloppier and honestly mean spirited than the original.
