This show brought back memories for me as well. In my case, the last time I saw this show on TV was ~16 years ago.

Douglas Gayeton created the original comic the show is based on back in 1997, but plans to publish it went wayside when Alphanim approached them about the potentiality of creating a TV adaptation and purchased the rights to the work.
