It was first introduced on 2011's The Muppets, used on Pixar films starting with Brave, and on Walt Disney Animation Studios films starting with Wreck-It Ralph which both released in 2012. Although a new on-screen logo was unveiled in 2022, honoring the company's 100th anniversary, this print logo is still in use.
In 1995, though, the logo underwent a transformation into what would be the basis for the Disney logo we see today, featuring a light blue castle with the text “Walt Disney Pictures” displayed across it. This logo was used until 2006 when Disney adopted the logo we now see today.
