Oct 2, 2024 · We welcomed our first women students to Wadham in 1974. This year, we celebrate our 50th anniversary of coeducation. However, women were part of the fabric of college life from its earliest days, as can be seen from our collection of portraits.
Wadham was founded by a woman in the 17th century with a mission to create a college of academic excellence in the heart of Oxford. We have been pushing the boundaries of knowledge and inquiry ever since.
