   Apr 8, 2022 · We spent hundreds of pounds on a new hot tub cover only for it to be supplied with stretchy elastic fasteners which are not fit for purpose. In any amount of wind, the cover comes off of the tub and leaves the water exposed to the elements and the heater permanently on, trying to keep temperature.

   • Looks like you’re in the United States. Glad to recommend CoversForTubs. So far so good, after three months of use. This is the fourth cover I have bought for my hot-tub since 2001. It wasn't cheap, but the quality seems high. All of the others, bought elsewhere, have eventually failed because of water vapour ingress into the insulating foam.

   • The stitching started letting go on the hot tub cover we received from them only 1 1/2 years ago. The company said it was not their fault but it was a result of using a lifter! Well that is the best and safest way to take off a cover! However l was sort of fortunate to get a new skin cover at a discounted price of $163.

   • Stay AWAY from Cover Guys, they have no idea what they're doing...I ordered my hot tub cover online July 5th, 2024 with assurance it would be fabricated within 10 days then shipped within 2-3 weeks. That should have put is arriving at my home mid to end of August worst case.

   How do you fix a Waterlogged Spa cover?

   • There's not a lot you can do with the way these are designed. There is no manual way to get the cover closed if there is a failure in the system, which will happen. The foam core top is constructed in a way where it will get waterlogged. The motors are not powerful enough to lift a waterlogged cover so eventually your spa will become unuseable.

   What happens if you put water on a spa cover?

   • You will end up with a quarter inch layer of water across the entire cover. It doesn't sound like a lot but it will make the cover very slow or not lift at all if it's already started to get waterlogged. Lastly, water will leak through the seams in the top panels and enter your spa. It is not a sealed top as it looks.
