Valles Caldera (or Jemez Caldera) is a 13.7-mile (22.0 km) wide volcanic caldera in the Jemez Mountains of northern New Mexico. [1] Hot springs , streams, fumaroles , natural gas seeps, and volcanic domes dot the caldera landscape. [ 4 ]

This environmental science documentary focuses on the Valles Caldera National Preserve in the high mountains of northern New Mexico. The Preserve is situated inside a collapsed crater surrounded by eruptive domes and features the 11,254 ft Redondo Peak. Much of the year, the Valles area is an emerald gem amidst the serene New Mexico landscape.
