since opening its doors in 1998, the art academy of san diego’s mission has been to provide education and opportunity to the artist in all of us. classes are for 6 weeks, meeting once per week for 3 hours at a cost of $230 for online classes, and $270 for in-person classes. mosaic has an added materials fee.

The Art Academy of San Diego is a wonderful space where I have been able to brush up on my painting skills by taking classes with other professionals and artists of all levels of skill. Recently I took an abstract painting class with Reed Cardwell and a Mosaic class with Lauren Becker Downey, both are impressive and accomplished artists that are down-to-earth, helpful and very inspiring.
