Initially an all-boys school, Gilmour welcomed its first students in the fall of 1946 and graduated its first class in 1950. At the time, classes were conducted primarily in Tudor House, with additional space established in the property’s remaining farm outbuildings.

Oct 12, 2024 · The Gilmour Academy community celebrated the 100th anniversary of its iconic Tudor House, and the its recent renovation, at what was called "The Party of the Century" on Oct. 5.
The Tudor home housed the school’s library, classrooms, and dining hall. Today the main house is used as offices for administrators and the lodge is a residence for the school’s priests. In 2023, the exterior of the mansion and its walled gardens were painstakingly restored through a 28-million-dollar donation from the Howley Foundation.
