Oct 10, 2019 · One section had white stairs that lead from the dock to Rue Casernes and the center of town. Each step had 1 important historical event inscribed on it - what a wonderful way to introduce cruisers to Trois Rivieres' history. At the top of the stairs was a small bed of flowers which enhanced the monument to Laviolette, the founder of Trois Rivieres.
- Forges du Saint Maurice. Forges du Saint-Maurice is found on the outskirts of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec and it is a National Historic Site of Canada. The site has good parking, picnic sites and lots of interesting things to explore, including the Grande Maison and a multimedia show, which adds greatly to the experience.
- Musee de Ursulines. The dome of the Ursuline monastery is sure to attract visitor traveling through Trois-Rivières. It is a souvenir of the Ursulines’ 300-year presence and invites travelers to discover the building that has served as a cloister, a school, and a hospital.

The city is located at the mouth of the Saint-Maurice River, on the north shore of the St. Lawrence, midway between Quebec City and Montreal and is the regional capital of Quebec's Mauricie region.
