It is a scam using a stolen credit card. They want you to pay the "band" which in reality is the scammer themselves out of what they pay you. They will never show up for the "party" and most likely the payment they made to you would be reversed when the victim files a dispute. You end up out the money you send to the fake band.

Earlier this year I fell victim to a scam, losing £7,800. A fraudster posed as a representative of the cinema chain Cineworld and messaged me on WhatsApp to offer me work (which I now know was bogus) as a film reviewer.
