Scared Stiff (also known as Treasure of Fear (American television title) and You'll Be The Death Of Me Yet) is a 1945 American comedic murder mystery directed by Frank McDonald for Pine-Thomas Productions and released by Paramount Pictures.
A crime comedy about a chess-deck and chessmen, rather modest as script and performance, TREASURE OF FEAR, with Jack Haley and Ann Savage, directed by Frank McDonald, has too many small ideas to assemble them into a story.
A rather dimwitted reporter (Jack Haley) gets involved with a murder, some criminals and some stolen treasure. SCARED STIFF is one of those low-budget movies that was made quickly and for cheap and it's doubtful too many people saw it on its original release.
