  4. Jun 6, 2021 · Toadstool Geologic Park and Campground in the Ogalla National Grassland isn't on many lists, but with its unique features it's worth a stop!

  5. The trailhead at the campground provides access to three hiking trails to choose from with varying degrees of difficulty. A one mile loop highlights many examples of eroded clay/sandstone formations. While on the trail, follow our interpretive brochure to learn the fascinating geology of the area.

  6. This geological park is a gem down a gravel road in Western Nebraska. The little campground has a few permanent picnic tables with covers and camping pads, a bathroom, but no park rangers or staff. Entrance to the trails is free.
