All painting was done with enamels. The major colour is Humbrol gloss yellow, weathered and faded with Revel white (it stays white). The de Havilland DH.82 Tiger Moth is a 1930s British biplane designed by Geoffrey de Havilland and built by the de Havilland Aircraft Company. It was operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF) and other operators as a primary trainer aircraft.
The Tiger Moth formed the backbone of Commonwealth flying training during the Second World War with over 8,000 being produced, and war surplus aircraft re-established many flying clubs in the post-war period.
