Biography. Born in Bradford, Pennsylvania, Barnsdall was the daughter of oilman Theodore Newton Barnsdall. T.N. Barnsdall and his father, Aline's grandfather, had been early participants in the Pennsylvanian oil rush of the late 1850s. [1]

Theodore Newton (August 4, 1904 – February 28, 1963) was an American film and stage actor. He was sometimes billed as Ted Newton. Early years. Newton's parents were Mr. and Mrs. C. Bertram Newton. [1] He failed out of Princeton University after 21⁄2 years and worked as a bank clerk in Philadelphia.
