Theodore L. Newton Jr. and George F. Azrak were two agents of the United States Border Patrol who were kidnapped and murdered by marijuana smugglers on June 17, 1967, near Anza, California. They are the namesakes of the Theodore L. Newton Jr. and George F. Azrak Station in Murrieta, California and the Newton-Azrak Award for Heroism.

Theodore L. Newton, Jr. was the senior of the two men who went missing. Just a year earlier, he had attended the 86th session of the Border Patrol Academy in Port Isabel, Texas, where he graduated top in his class. This after a successful four-year stint with the United States Air Force.

Dec 3, 2010 · After Hooke’s death in 1703 Newton was elected President of the Royal Society (‘they’ also say he waited until Hooke had died before becoming more active in the Society). Newton oversaw the Society’s move to a new premises in Crane Court , and it is assumed that the portrait went missing during this move.
