- White/Yellow Cake Mix + Applesauce. Instead of eggs and oil, applesauce is used as the replacement. This recipe works best with white and yellow cake mix.
- Cake Mix + Club Soda/Sparkling Water. This works with any cake mix flavor. I like chocolate the best.
- Chocolate Cake Mix + Soda. I previously shared my 2 Ingredient Chocolate Coke Cake, but it can be made with any soda flavor. The cake comes out incredibly fluffy.
- Cake Mix + Greek Yogurt + Water. Technically this cake requires 3 ingredients, but the third ingredient is water. It can be made without the water but I didn’t like the results as much.
- Rich Chocolate Cake. You’ve got a hankering for chocolate cake but you’ve only got a white cake mix? No worries! The most obvious way to turn it into a chocolate cake is to add 1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder to the mix.
- Italian Cream Cake. Have you seen my My Italian Cream Cake recipe? It starts with a white cake mix. In fact, I often use one white and one yellow as a base for this cake.
- Carrot cake. You’re dying for a carrot cake but you’ve only got a white cake mix? No worries! Start with a white cake mix, y’all! And trust me. . . these sweet treats will leave you hankering for more!
- Spice cake. You’re ready for the warmth of fall and can’t wait to bake a spice cake, but all you have is a white cake mix. No worries! Just make it according to the recipe (or doctor the cake mix by substituting milk or orange juice for water and butter for oil).
