mesh509. •. It’s a brilliant indictment of excess, greed, and destroying your life and others’ just for the sake of riches. The whole movie—especially the ending—is Scorsese holding a mirror up to America and reminding us that these are the kinds of guys with the most power.
Jul 31, 2023 · Wolf Of Wall Street falls short of that. It's excess for excess' sake. The protagonist is an unmitigated jerk and, well, we're asked to go on this ride with him. And then the film forces the humor on us rather than earning it. Wolf of Wall Street moves too much into satire territory and I think that's it's undoing.
McKay did something better then Scorsese. He immediately told a perfect good story. When I walked into The Wolf Of Wall Street I thought I was gonna get a story about a man who worked on Wall Street who became a billionaire but all I got was sex and nudity. I mean that's all I saw in the movie. I ain't such a big fan of the sex scenes or brief ...
Mar 25, 2020 · Jack Nicholson, Leo Decaprio, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg. Great fucking movie. Very long though. Boiler Room. The Aviator. Another great Scorsese/DiCaprio team up. Boogie Nights for sure if you've not seen that. It's fun like Wolf of Wall Street but it also deals with serious themes. Limitless.
WASPs will not associate with minorities or the poor unless it involves being in a position of superiority, for example donating crappy goods to the poor or expanding their cultural horizons by buying exotic food from the brown people at the local farmer's market. Then they can brag about their grocery adventures to their friends and family.
