Sep 22, 2013 · The title today is “Knowing our place in God’s plan.” Now the phrase “knowing our place” doesn’t sit well with many Americans, being free spirited and independent as we so often are. We don’t like this idea of having “a place.” We say, “I’ll be who I want to be and do whatever I want.”
It’s time we know our place and our role. Our place is at the feet of the Lord – He is our God and Lord over all of His creation. We ought to be like Mary of Bethany who was always at the feet waiting on Jesus Christ, and listening and learning the ways of her savior.
Faith in God brings humility – a sense of your place – which should then be fertile ground to grow wisdom. Remember that wisdom is that divine quality that, if we’re attentive to its voice, gives us the insight to see things as they truly are, as close to God’s reality as possible for a human being.
