   Are Amazon reviews a scam?

   • That’s probably why solicitations by paid book review services are the most common scams I find in my inbox. Most of the contemporary scammers have the sense not to promise Amazon reviews any more, because Amazon now has fierce penalties for paid reader reviews. (Paid and exchanged reviews are absolutely verboten on Amazon.)

   • The message was signed by a “Trevor Anderson, Senior Literary Consultant” at “Authors Guild Literary Management,” with an email address and website not affiliated with the Authors Guild. This message is fraudulent. The Authors Guild does not have a “Book Acquisition Team,” nor would we ever use this type of language or approach.
