    Simon Dutton (born 1 January 1958) is an English actor, best known for playing the title role of Simon Templar (alias the Saint) in a series of internationally produced television films in 1989.

    Dutton not only played Simon Templar but was also named after him, his mother being a keen Leslie Charteris reader. He attended Sir William Borlase's Grammar School, a 17th century school located in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, and was educated at Central School of Speech and Drama - one of the most prestigious in the UK.

    His non-Saint films include Downtown Lagos (1992), , Suite Française (2014) and Jupiter Ascending (2015). In 2007, he joined the cast of British sitcom Not Going Out as recurring character Guy but was written out at the end of series two.

    He has been married twice, to Betsy Brantley and Tamsin Olivier, daughter of Laurence Olivier and Joan Plowright. Both marriages ended in divorce.

    Dutton is one of the Vice Presidents of The Saint Club along with the other actors who have portrayed the famous character. He loves travelling, and often takes part in numerous charitable events and fund-raisers.
