The Saint is a 1997 film based on the character of Simon Templar created by Leslie Charteris. The film stars Val Kilmer, Elisabeth Shue, and Rade Šerbedžija. It was directed by Phillip Noyce and written by Jonathan Hensleigh and Wesley Strick.
Created by Leslie Charteris in a series of books, Simon Templar, nicknamed The Saint (because of his initials), is a world-famous amateur detective who operates as a modern-day Robin Hood. Many episodes of the Moore series adapted short stories and novels from the book series.
The Saint appeared in over 100 novels, novellas, and short stories published between 1928 and 1983, as well as 2 television series and countless film adaptations.
