  4. Good but not great. Competently recreating the WW2 period setting of Stefan Zweig’s 100 page Chess Story. Also known as The Royal Game or Schachnovelle in German. As with many book-to-screen adaptations, a tough ask to successfully adapt the inner workings(heart and mind) of a protagonist.
